Biography:
I knew that I wanted to be a teacher since the third grade. So, at 17 years old, I was off to Johnson State College to start my training. That was back in 1978. I graduated in '82 with the intention of teaching upper elementary school. I taught first at College Street School in Middlebury; then I taught 6th, 3rd and 5th grade in Cornwall as long-term subbing positions opened up. Everyone I subbed for came back, and so, I came to Mount Abe in 1986. I have been teaching here, in various capacities, ever since. I started as a Chapter 1 reading teacher. I then moved into a reading teacher position on the "Maroon Crew." Later, I became dual-certified and so, taught geography and history. With shifting enrollments and faculty, I moved into an English position for a while. Now that we are with new teams, I once again am teaching social studies. I am home again! |
