Biography: This is my third year teaching at Mount Abraham, though my first in the middle school. I am very excited for the opportunity to teach and learn with a new age group. I am looking forward to teaching a variety of reading and writing skills this year through such literature as The Jungle Book by Rudyard Kipling and a Kingfischer Epic translation of The Odyssey retold by Robin Lister. I find myself constantly delighted by the enthusiasm students show when they find something engaging in their reading. I also feel lucky to be able to spend every day learning new things through working with students who constantly show me new ways to look at the world.
I grew up in New Haven Vermont and attended Johnson State College where I earned two degrees; One in English Literature and another in Secondary Education.
Outside of teaching at Mt. Abe, I enjoy kayaking, sewing, spending time with friends and family from around the country and reading in my front yard on Lewis Creek. |
