I began my teaching career at Mt. Abraham in 1982 as a graduate of The University of Vermont. I continue my professional development by participation in a variety of learning opportunities including college coursework and local, state, and national conferences. I have a Masters in Education degree and 30 + credits of graduate level work.
I thoroughly enjoy working in the wonderful and supportive community of Addison Northeast. My professional focus is in the area of Health Education. I believe that students are prepared for learning and life when they have knowledge and skills to be physically, socially, and emotionally well. I facilitate the educational support team (EST) at the middle level. The EST provides a process to support all students’ success at Mt. Abraham UMHS. I also advise a middle school leadership club called STARs (Students Taking Actions Responsibly)
I live in Waltham with my husband, adjusting to our empty nest. We have 4 grown children who are actively pursuing careers in education, the environment, and engineering. When not working at Mt. Abe. or maintaining our homestead I enjoy reading, gardening, being outside, and enjoying life’s simple pleasures.
